What Are Flower Essences?

Have you ever felt anxious for no apparent reason, stuck in the same emotional or habitual loop, overwhelmed, disconnected, or trapped in procrastination?

Flower essences are a gentle, natural way to restore balance between mind and body. They are scentless, energetic infusions made from wildflowers that work vibrationally on the emotional

level rather than directly addressing physical symptoms.

In the 1930s, Dr. Edward Bach, an English physician, bacteriologist, and homeopath, created the Bach Flower Remedies to treat the person, not the symptoms. He believed that illness is the effect of disharmony between body and mind, with many physical illnesses having emotional roots. The body heals naturally when emotions are back in balance.

Drawing on the ancient knowledge of using dew and flowers for healing, the Bach essences are predominantly prepared using wildflowers collected from the English countryside, placed in

spring water in direct sunlight. This process allows the plant's energetic imprint to be transferred into the water, which holds this energy like a memory. The infused water becomes the base for the essence and is preserved using organic brandy or organic/non-GMO vegetable glycerine.

Dr. Bach developed 38 individual essences, each aimed at a particular mental state or emotion, from fear and uncertainty to loneliness, anger, grief, and everything in between. They can be taken individually or combined into a personal blend, custom-made to what you are experiencing in the moment.

You may have used the popular Bach flower essence, ‘Rescue Remedy,’ a blend of five flower essences: Clematis, Cherry Plum, Impatiens, Star of Bethlehem, and Rock Rose. It provides

support for times of anxiety and emotional upheaval and is a great essence to have for emergencies when you need to feel calm. My version of this blend is called ‘Take A Breath.’

What Can Flower Essences Help With?

Clients come to me for many reasons, including burnout, heartbreak, emotional overwhelm, or simply because they are curious about how they can feel more grounded, focused, confident, connected to themselves, or emotionally steady during life changes.

Emotions are rarely one-dimensional; I love creating bespoke blends of up to seven essences to support what you are going through. We will work together to create a blend that resonates with your current emotional state, not just what is showing up on the surface, but also old patterns or limiting beliefs.

During a consultation, we will talk about how you are feeling, your personality: Are you naturally sensitive, driven, or introverted? What habits or emotions have you noticed in

yourself? What are your goals and relationships like, and where do you feel stuck? Together, a formula is created that feels true for you and you circumstances. The dosage is four drops under the tongue, four times a day. You can also add them to a glass or bottle of water and sip throughout the day. I often combine flower essences with other energy-based modalities, Psych-K and the Emotion Code, to support deeper emotional shifts and help release limiting beliefs or stored emotions.

Depending on the level of imbalance, some flower essences may have an immediate effect, but if there is a more deep-rooted emotion, it may take longer, a few days, weeks or you may need to repeat the same essence to fully support the shift.

You Don't Have to Believe in the Flower Essences

Flower essences aren't about belief; you don't need to be spiritual or open to "energy work" for them to be effective.

The great thing about flower essences is that they are safe, non-toxic, compatible with other therapies or treatments, and can be used by children and animals.
