In the Spotlight Amber Cotton - Nutrition

In our quest to showcase experts in alternative fields, we are thrilled to introduce Amber Cotton as our feature for this month.

Amber is a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach who specialises in helping women achieve their health goals through simple and sustainable changes to their diet and lifestyle.

So Amber tell us a little about yourself.

Hello, I’m Amber and I’m registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach.  My passion is empowering women with hormone issues to reclaim their health through good nutrition and nervous system balance.

I trained in Nutritional Therapy for four years at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and graduated with a distinction.  I am registered with the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and am a member of The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

What is your expertise?

I help women to develop sustainable nutrition and lifestyle habits so that they can regain their energy, restore their health, and find the balance they need to thrive.

Tell me a little bit more detail.

When working with my clients I use a whole-person approach to their health issues, and I take the time to identify the root cause of their symptoms rather than offering an ‘off-the-peg’ approach. This is because every person is unique, and because the source of their uncomfortable gut or hormone symptoms may well be due to an imbalance elsewhere in the body.

If you are struggling with digestive issues, painful or missing periods, skin problems, perimenopause symptoms, thyroid issues, fatigue, or unwanted weight gain then nutritional therapy can help.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I love supporting women to understand more about their health, and to appreciate how their dietary and lifestyle choices can affect their delicate hormone balance, their energy, and their weight.

What piece of knowledge are you going to share with Studio Zest Clients today to help with their wellness journey?

My advice to you will always be personalised so, for example, if you don’t like eating kale or you hate yoga, then I won’t ask you to.

What is your fav wellness routine?

I’m really into ‘habit stacking’ at the moment, where you add a new habit onto an old one that’s already part of your routine.  My current favourites are standing on one leg while I clean my teeth (great for improving my balance) and doing some lunges while the kettle is boiling.

What do you like doing in your free time?

Like many of my clients, I don’t have a huge amount of free time but when I do, I love doing long walks with my dog and catching up with friends.

What do you do at Studio Zest?

I try to do Reformer Pilates classes twice a week.

What do you like about coming into the Studio?

I love the friendly classes and that the staff are so welcoming.  But I also love it that the teaching is of a really high standard, and that you are encouraged to always challenge yourself to the best of your ability.

How would our clients contact you if they were interested in coming to see you?

Either via my website – Amber Cotton Nutrition or on the telephone at 07435 520 772.

I offer a free Health and Energy Review telephone call to all potential clients to discuss how I can help you to find the balance you need to transform your health.
